Are you interested in giving your brand a boost with being more active on social media? But don’t know where to start when it comes to posting relevant content that people want to see? While every business is different, there are a few types of content ideas to include on your social feed to give your online presence a little extra life:

Brand Awareness
Testimonials
Recent Projects
Updates
Engagements

Brand Awareness

Let people get to know you on social media. Think of this has our about or services page turned into social media content. Create content that will make you stand out on social media; talk about what you have to offer people, and why they could benefit from it. Along with posting about your self, be sure to include content that is relevant to your industry. Are you an IT company? Talk about the latest software or internet browser releases. In retail? Talk about consumer habits.

Testimonials

Talking about yourself all the time isn’t going to gain the trust of potential clients. Buyers are skeptical and want to make sure business is credible before giving their business. Hearing it from previous customers and clients is a great way to to showcase your abilities and add a sense of security to your brand. From quotes and videos, testimonials are a great way to market and promote yourself online.

Recent Projects

Show everyone what you can do! Highlight what your business has been up to with recently completed projects (you can tie this in with a testimonial from the client also). As a B2B or SaaS service, you showcase a recent client of yours and show the results too; did you save the client time or money? Increase their profit? For the B2C or retail environments, show new products or inventory that you have. Like a brewery revealing a new beer or a clothing store unveiling a new line for the season. Use social to give people a taste of your offerings.

Updates

Aside from posting fresh work, use social to give people insights on what your business has been up to. Is your company’s five year anniversary coming up? Talk about it. Annual corporate retreat? Give a quick recap of how it went. Holidays coming up? Create a social graphic to celebrate. Even posting small updates like a “Taco Tuesday” adds a more human element to your brand that people will relate to and connect with.

Engagements

Getting people to interact with your account is key for more visibility. Examples of engaging posts include Motivation Monday quotes, asking people what their favorite service or product of yours is, or asking followers/subscribers what their weekend plans are. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram all have ways to generate interaction, including polls and Q&A’s. Other ways to invoke engagement includes providing incentives or offers to your followers (think of those “like and share to enter and win” type of posts).
